Solution for your establishment

Google Review NFC Tag for Restaurant

In a restaurant, the review hinges on a thirty-second window: when the customer has finished eating, paid, and has not yet left. The DPA TAP NFC plate perfectly occupies this moment. The customer taps their phone, your establishment's Google profile opens, and they can leave a review if they wish. They don't have to type a name or search for your establishment among homonyms.

The right moment, both in the dining room and at the counter

In table service, the useful window opens at the time of the bill: the customer is waiting for the payment terminal, with their phone in hand or nearby. That's when the plate is presented, not during the meal.

For takeout or counter service, the moment is different: it's during order preparation or when handing over the bag. The customer is standing, available for a few seconds, often alone with you.

In both cases, the rule is the same: offer after the experience, never during. A customer disturbed in the middle of a meal doesn't leave a review; they experience a solicitation.

Where to place the plate according to your service

  • Near the payment terminal — the most profitable location in table service, as it coincides with the moment the customer pauses.
  • On the pickup counter — for takeout, where the customer waits for their bag.
  • On the bar or in the waiting area — useful if you have a queue or an aperitif space.

The plate measures 10 × 10 cm and is attached with 3M adhesive on the back. Choose a flat, clean, and dry surface, and avoid a greasy area or one cleaned with a lot of water multiple times a day: the adhesive is designed for permanent placement, not for relocation. Test the scan before removing the protection.

If you have two distinct areas — a dining room and a takeout counter, for example — you need two plates. The pack of two allows you to equip both with the same link.

What your team can say

In restaurant service, the phrase should be a single line and easily said by anyone: server, runner, cashier, weekend temp. Something like: "If you enjoyed your meal, you can tap your phone on the plate, it helps us a lot."

Two key points to remember. Never condition a coffee, dessert, or discount on the publication of a review: Google's rules prohibit it, and it can lead to the removal of the reviews concerned. And don't ask for a "good" review — ask for a review.

For group tables, address the person paying rather than the entire table: a collective request can make people uncomfortable and is less effective.

What changes during a rush

This is the main benefit in restaurants: the plate works without anyone having to manage it. A busy service is precisely when the team doesn't have time to ask for a review — and often when the restaurant serves the most covers. The plate remains visible and available even when the dining room is full.

It also solves a problem specific to the sector: many restaurants have a common name or share it with other establishments. A customer searching for "the local pizzeria" on Google rarely finds the correct listing on the first try. The plate directly opens yours.

Pre-programmed to your listing before shipping

When ordering, you provide the exact name of your restaurant and, if you already have it, the direct review link to your Google listing. If you can't find it, the name and address are sufficient: we identify the correct listing before programming the chip.

The plate arrives already configured. Nothing to install upon receipt, no app required for either the customer or the establishment, no monthly subscription. If you change your brand or listing later, the chip can be reprogrammed.

What the plate does not do

It does not publish any reviews on behalf of the customer and does not guarantee a number of reviews, a rating, or a position in Google search results. It removes a friction point — searching for your establishment — but the decision to publish remains entirely the customer's.

It also assumes a phone compatible with NFC and with this function enabled. On an older device or with a very thick case, scanning might not work on the first try.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the plate hold up on a counter cleaned several times a day?

The 3M adhesive resists common cleaning agents on a flat, non-porous surface. However, avoid areas that are constantly greasy or submerged, where no adhesive will hold permanently.

Do I need one plate per room?

One plate covers one point of passage. If your customers pay at two different locations, two plates are more effective than one moved around.

Does the customer need to download anything?

No. NFC scanning uses the phone's built-in functions. A notification appears, the customer taps it, and your profile opens.

Can I offer a coffee in exchange for a review?

No. Google prohibits offering an incentive in exchange for a review, and reviews obtained this way can be removed. Present the plate as an invitation, without any quid pro quo.

What if my restaurant changes its name or address?

The chip retains the saved link. If your Google listing changes, you need to verify the new link and then reprogram the plate.
